Maison Jean Prouvé, Nancy

Set design for Vitra at the Jean Prouvé home in Nancy, France. Vitra revised the Prouvé collection with new colors and fabrics and will present new, previously unknown designs in autumn 2022. The shooting took place in Jean Prouvé's house, which he built for himself and his family in 1954. The building is on a hillside outside of Nancy, embedded in wild nature. The house lives from its technical expression and reflects its honest design language, which can also be found in his furniture designs. For the styling, I used a few selected objects. The aim was to incorporate the reduced design language of the house and furniture with the styling and to set fresh impulses by means of color accents in combination with the new color collection of the furniture. Large plants were not necessary, since Jean Prouvé planned a cutout in the ground in his house, from which a large date palm is now growing and is able to dissolve the boundaries between inside and outside.
