HOUSE RIEHEN
This 19th-century house had lost its former charm under various layers of finish and paint. The challenge was to restore the rooms to their original appearance while using targeted interventions to meet present-day needs. The selective removal of walls opened up new connections between rooms as well as new lines of sight, resulting in the desired sense of spaciousness. A large, frameless sliding window dissolves the boundaries between inside and out. The romantic garden becomes part of the living space, and the four seasons can be experienced in all their diversity. My furnishing choice involved a mix of vintage furniture and design classics from the 1950s.
